The all-new Summa perforating tool for the Flatbed F Series is used to make perforations in a very efficient and fast way. This tool elevates perforated materials with sharper 90° edges that bend and fold – resulting in a nicer finish.
In addition to that, it saves a considerable amount of time in the assembly of cardboard or polypropylene boxes.
Best features of the perforating tool:
• Up to 25 times faster cutting of perforation lines (versus EOT tool)
• Alternative for creasing. Folding and bending lines into cardboard
• High-quality perforated cuts
• Several knives available
Ideal for cutting:
• Solid cardboard
• Corrugated board
• Polypropylene film
With the precise perforating lines, you are able to create self-closing folding boxes. The better bend properties of the perforated lines enable the creation of a folding line at the bottom of a box.
Tip for Perforating tear-off lines
The standard F Series conveyor belt does not give sufficient support to do a full perforation cut through flexible or thin materials.
To cut through, we recommend using a stiffer underlay. By putting an MDF board in between, the necessary resistance is created for the cutter blade. The MDF is soft enough not to damage the knife and porous enough to distribute the vacuum to the sheet, hence the 500- 9890 knife is recommended for this application
